Last Updated: 05 June 2018

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in InetLab e.U. (“Inetlab”, “we”, “us”), our website at https://www.inetlab.com (the “Site”), our downloadable software, as well as any other services provided by us which have a link to this Privacy Policy displayed on them, and all written or oral communications with individuals, such as phone or email (together with the site, collectively, our “Services”).

We know you care what kind of information we collect about you, who has access to it, how it's used or shared, and how long we store it for. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) gives a detailed account of the information we collect through our Services. It describes how we disclose and use the information, and the steps that we take to protect it.

By visiting the Site, using our Services, or making a purchase, you accept all privacy practices set out in this Policy. We may update this Policy periodically by publishing the new version on our Site, so please check back occasionally for any changes on this page.

If you don't agree with our Policy, please do not access our Services or use any aspect of our business.

This Policy is designed to help you understand the following:

The information we collect about you, how and why we collect it

We gather information about you when you give it to us through using our Service as well as when it is provided to us by other sources as described below:

Customer Support: When you email us or get in touch with us through the “contact us” form on our Site, we store your email address, as well as the summary of the problem you're experiencing, screenshots, and any other additional information that you provide us with. This information is used to answer your customer service related queries and/or in improving our Services.

Forum Participation: Our Site offers a publicly accessible forum where you can read the forum posts without registering as a member. However, should you choose to register, we may collect some personally identifiable information that you provide such as your name (username) and your email address.

Order Placement: If you purchase any of our products online, our third-party payment processors collect and store your payment information. The e-commerce services that we use are provided by MyCommerce/Share-It Inc. Click Here if you would like to access MyCommerce privacy statement. Upon the completion of your order, MyCommerce forwards your email address, name, address, and product keys to us. Go to https://account.mycommerce.com/home/wiki/XML%20Notification%20Examples for examples. This information is stored in our customer database and it is used to create license files as well as to send you the delivery email. We do not receive your card information from the e-commerce service.

Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics for measuring and evaluating access and traffic to our Site's public area, as well as to create user navigation reports and to integrate and optimize web pages. Google operates separately from us and they have their own privacy policy which you should review. We take measures to protect the data collected through our use of Google Analytics. Google Analytics makes use of “cookies” that are stored on your computer to analyze how you use our website. The information gathered from the cookies, including your IP address, is anonymized and then transmitted to the Google servers in the United States in a non-identifiable form. We don't use this information to identify any visitors to our site. Go to https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2763052 to see how IP anonymization works.

How the information we collect is shared

We do not rent or sell your personally identifiable information to third-party sites or share any of your information with others for marketing purposes. We only share information we gather about you in the following ways:

Administrators: Your information including your name, contact details, profile picture, and content and the past use of your membership account may be made accessible to the administrators of the Services.

Forum Members: As a forum member, you should know that any of the information provided by you on our Site may be read, gathered, and used by anyone who has access to the public area of the Site. Such information includes the profile information that is associated with the particular account that you use to post said information. Certain profile information and posts may remain even after you delete your account, therefore it's vital that you consider the sensitivity of the information you share on the forum. If you would like to request the removal of any information from the public area of our Site, please get in touch with us using our Contact Us page. If we are unable to remove your information, as it happens in some cases, we will let you know why.

Service Providers: Some of the third-party service providers that we work with may require information about you in order to perform services on our behalf. These providers include hosting, backup, storage, maintenance, payment processing, virtual infrastructure, analysis, and other such service providers. However, if they do require access to information about you to be able to perform these services for us, we have procedures and policies that are designed to protect your personal information in such cases.

Links to Third-Party Sites: Our Services may include links directing you to other sites or services, some of whose privacy practices may be different from ours. This means that if you submit your information to those third-party websites, then your information will be governed by their privacy policies and not ours. We recommend that you carefully read the privacy policies of any other sites that you may visit that are linked to ours.

With Your Consent: When you give us consent to do so, we share your information with third-party sites. For example, we display some personal testimonials from satisfied customers on our public sites. If you give your consent, we may display your name alongside your testimonial.

Legal Process, Law Enforcement, and Compliance: We may share your information with a third party in exceptional circumstances where we believe that sharing is absolutely necessary to:

  1. comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or government requests, which include meeting national security requirements
  2. protect the integrity or security of our products or services
  3. enforce our agreement, policy, and terms of service
  4. protect InetLab, our customers and the general public from harm or any illegal activities
  5. respond to emergencies that we believe require us to disclose information that will help to prevent death or serious bodily harm to anyone.

How the information we collect is stored and secured

Information storage and security

The data hosting service provider that we use to host the information that we gather is located in the United States. Technical measures are used to ensure that your data is secure. We take the necessary steps to ensure that any personal information that you provide us is treated securely. Non-sensitive details such as your email address are transmitted in a normal way over the internet. This means that there can be no guarantee of 100% security. Because of this, we can never guarantee total security of the information you transmit to us so you do so at your own risk. Once we have received the information, however, we do our best to ensure that it's secure on our systems.

How long we keep your information

Your personal information is held in our systems for as long as it is required for the applicable activity, after which the information will either be deleted or anonymized. If it isn't possible to do so (for example, if the information has already been archived), then your information will be securely stored and isolated from further use until such a time as the deletion is possible.

Account Information: Your account information is kept for as long as you have an active account and for a reasonable length of time thereafter just in case you decide to re-activate our Services. We also keep some of the information that you provide us as necessary to comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, resolve disputes, support business operations, and to continue to improve our Services. In such instances, steps are taken to eliminate any information that identifies you directly. The information is only used in the uncovering of collective insights relative to our Services use, and not to specifically analyze your personal characteristics.

Information that you share on our Services: Should your account be disabled or deactivated, some of the content and information provided by you will remain so that other users can make full use of our Services. For example, the content you provided will continue to be displayed, and the messages you sent to other users will continue to be displayed to them.

How to access, control, edit or delete your information

When it comes to your information on our Site, you have various choices available to you as to the handling of it. Listed below is a summary of the options that you have, how you can exercise them, and the limitations placed on each.

Rights of User: Information, Correction, Deletion

As a user, if you request it, you will be supplied with free information pertaining to your stored personal data. If you want incorrect data to be corrected, or your personal data to be deleted or blocked, you have the right to request that (unless that request conflicts with legal obligations to store data such as data retention).

Your choices: You have the right to ask for a copy of all your information or to object to the use of your information by us for marketing and any other purposes. You can also request that we delete or restrict your information, or that you're provided with your structured information in an electronic format. Your requests may be limited in some cases such as a situation where fulfilling it would entail revealing information about someone else, or if we have a compelling legitimate interest to keep it and are permitted by law.

Pertaining to data that you have allowed us to share with third parties, you will have to contact those service providers directly if you want your information restricted or deleted. For any unresolved concerns, you have the right to make a complaint to the data protection authority.

Updating information: You can access and update some of your information such as profile information from within our Service.

Deactivating your account: You can deactivate your Services account if you decide that you no longer wish to use our Services. The setting is available in your account settings, or you can contact us for assistance.

Deleting your information: You have the ability to delete some information about you, like the content that you provided, from inside the Service using the keyword search and editing tools related to that content. You can remove certain profile information via the profile settings. However, we may need to retain some information for the purpose of keeping records, completing transactions, or complying with legal obligations.

Requesting us to stop using any of your information: You may ask us not to access, store, use, and process your information if you believe we don't have the right to do so (for example, if you believe your Services account was created by someone else without your permission), or if you are no longer an active user. You have a right to withdraw your consent for us to use your information at any time, although such requests may take time to investigate and facilitate. If there is a dispute or a delay, further use of your information will be restricted until the issue is resolved.

Opt out of communications with us: You can choose to opt out of receiving any promotional communications from us simply by using the unsubscribe link contained within every email or by updating your preferences in your Service account menu settings, or by contacting us to have your information removed from our registration database or our promotional email list.

You can prevent storage of Google Analytics cookies in your browser. Just simply download and install the free Opt-out Browser Add-on that is available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/. You can also opt-out of some of the cookies on this page: https://www.inetlab.com/PrivacySettings.
